band familytree.com was created by Hedley Vick, Dave MacLoed and Rob Cowley.

THE IDEA

The basis of band band familytree.com is for all musicians of all levels throughout the world to be able to record their playing history, experiences and details for everyone to see. You are able to enter details of all the bands you have played with and list all your achievements over the years. There is also the opportunity for you to get in touch with fellow musicians that you may have lost touch with or musicians who you admire and would just like to contact.

THE TEAM

Hedley has played guitar as a full time professional in many parts of the world with many high profile bands, as well as doing session work at venues as prestigious as the BBC. He is a Hendrix man (no surprise) but has also been spotted at the odd Opera and Musical so as you can gather he does have a wide taste in music. As well as being a bit of a wiz on the guitar he can also play bass, keyboards and harmonica.



Dave has played guitar and bass in a variety of bands in the Midlands and the North of England, in a wide variety of styles, and yet all with the same indelicate touch. These days his playing is restricted to the occasional Friday night in the pub, and even less frequent busking session in some unlucky Northern city. His musical interests vary from the bizarre to the mainstream, but tend towards the former: Dave is also the author of FretBoard, a chord and scale program for all Palm(tm) connected organisers for players of guitar, banjo or any other stringed instrument - its even got 12 different Bouzouki tunings! Rob is the website designer and can now play 6 chords on the guitar, although not always in the correct order. He has always been a fan of music in all forms and levels, whether it is a country band blasting away in the local pub or the Symphony Orchestra playing at a classy venue. It’s all music.



THE FUTURE

There will in the future be many additions to the website which we will keep you fully informed of and we welcome any comments or ideas on how you think the website can be improved.
